Light to medium cargo trucks are often responsible for the final leg of the transportation equation. Although they are mostly used in metropolitan areas, security is still an issue, as they can carry high value or sensitive cargos. Some drivers operating in dense traffic conditions and under pressure to meet tight delivery timelines can develop habits that do not comply with company best practices, and therefore must be managed accordingly. Tighter tracking and exception reporting, including security activity, is crucial. Should a driver be reported for aggressive driving, dispatch can remotely disable the vehicle in a safe and controlled manner using MAGTEC’s Acceleration Control System.
